International Update- Brazil team in Atibaia

UW is so excited to have three teams in Brazil this summer doing ministry in three different cities. The first team is in the city of Atitbaia which as you can see by clicking on it about an hour north of Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil (and one of the top 5 largest cities in the world).

The team is partnering with YMI (Youth Missions International) a ministry that UW has worked with for several years in the States. YMI Brasil is run by Juca Cerpe who is an ex Brazilian professional soccer player and has a heart to see churches using sports as an outreach tool. The team is staying with Juca and his family and working at a number of churches in the area and also a school. They started camp yesterday and were at "The International School" in Atibaia where they will be doing a camp all week in the morning. Picture is of the team leading some music there yesterday.

Today they add an afternoon camp that will also go the rest of the week with First Baptist Church Atibaia doing soccer and basketball. On top of that each evening the the team will be doing a one night camp at a different church each day.

The team of Josh Zabloski, Stene Verhulst, Caitlin McGee, Leah Staats, Cody Smith and Courtney Evans are doing well. They had a little longer trip than the other two Brazil teams as they flew from Miami to Belo Horizonte where they had a 9 hour layover Saturday night before arriving in Sao Paulo early Sunday morning. They were able to rest most of the day Sunday and will be VERY busy the next 10 days!

Please keep the team in prayer!
